About The Rock Youth Center

It all started when…

Klein & Karen Gilhousen had a vision for a youth center that would serve high school students in the Bozeman valley. They wanted a safe place for kids to be cared for and loved - regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs. So, in 2006, with the Gilhousen’s generous donation accompanied by support of the First Baptist Church, The Rock Youth Center was founded.

Since that first year a lot has changed, but our core of beliefs has stayed the same! We have distinguished ourselves as our own 501(c)3 and now operate independent of any specific denomination. Even so, we continue to maintain a Christ-centered presence in the Bozeman community. Without proselytizing, we hope and pray that each person that enters our doors feels the love of Jesus through interacting with our staff and just by being in this space.

We continue to be a safe place where students are free from bullying, drugs, violence, and fear. We vow to treat each student with the respect and love that they deserve. We love because Christ first loved us!

The Rock exists to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the Bozeman school community.

We are here to provide a safe place outside of school and home where kids are welcomed, loved, and encouraged to grow in every aspect of their lives.
