The Rock thrives because of high-energy, faithful volunteers dedicated to spending a little time every week serving and hanging out with students. The more help we have, the more the students benefit.
Here are the places volunteers serve:
Cafe Opearations - taking orders, serving food, cooking, making custom coffee drinks, setting up and cleaning up, chatting with students
Building Maintenance - moving snow, mowing the lawn, cleaning, making repairs
Fund Raising - helping with events, making connections, asking for donations, sharing our story
Prayer - every day, especially when the cafe is open
Volunteers choose days and jobs that are the best fit. All volunteers are background checked and are believers who are ready to share the gospel with interested students. We share a deep commitment to helping each student reach their full potential.
Email us if you'd like to interview for a Rock volunteer position.
Absolutely. The Rock does background checks for everyone serving or interacting with kids at The Rock.
For sure! We can use volunteers for baking, cleaning, maintenance (snow removal, lawn care, building handyman, etc.), fundraising, organizing and administrative tasks (updating website, writing thank you notes, making marketing mterials, etc.)
Yes, we ask all of our volunteers to support our Mission, Vision, and Statement of Faith.
Mission: Introducing the youth in the Gallatin Valley to Jesus and fostering the relationship we can have with Him.
Vision: Cultivating space for youth to experience the unconditional love of Jesus and be welcomed and encouraged through relationship with Christ and His Church.
Statement of Faith: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, the Son (Jesus) and The Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus was born of a virgin by the power of The Holy Spirit, was fully man and fully God, and lived a sinless life. We believe His death was the atonement for the sins of humanity. We believe in His resurrection from the dead and ascension back to the right hand of the Father. We believe He sent us His Holy Spirit to live inside us and through that He gave us access to relationship with Himself, the creator of the Universe. We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, and that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of The Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God and that it is inerrant in its original writing.
Most people serve in the cafe once a week from 11:30-1:30. Others choose to help twice a week, and some can only serve once or twice a month.
Volunteers that help with maintenance, fundraising and administrative tasks help as needs or events arise.
We can accomodate your schedule!
Serving at The Rock doesn't require a special skill set for most positions. If you can put a slice of pizza on a plate or toast a bagel, you're ready to go! We provide specific training to baristas. Aside from that, we train while you serve!
